The “Welsh Springsteen” delivered two passionate sets on Thursday at the Vernon Atrium Hotel and Conference Centre. Martyn Joseph had the crowd of close to 200 enthusiastically singing along to his songs of hope, redemption social consciousness.
While many of his songs dealt with weighty subjects such as injustice, poverty and political turmoil- his insightful and humourous quips between songs kept both sets beautifully balanced.

A great crowd nearing 200 was wowed by the music and humour of the Small Glories on Saturday night (April 2.)
The Small Glories are based out of Winnipeg and consist of former Vernonite Cara Luft, and J.D. Edwards. Playing mostly banjo and some guitar, Cara was obviously delighted to be back on stage in Vernon while J.D. played guitar and harmonica. Both played with lots of energy topped off with gorgeous two-part harmonies. They performed many of their own compositions- many of which focussed on the theme of “home.”

VFRMS would like to thank Duane Steele for the very entertaining house concert performed Saturday night. The crowd enjoyed his great voice and excellent guitar playing featuring songs from his Rockin’ Horse CD. Duane also welcomed local artist Jesse Mast to entertain the crowd. Jesse played 3 songs, one written in part by Duane. Jesse has previously graced the VFRMS stage and is in the midst of a new deal with Sony Records. Friday, February 20, 2015 The Creeks thoroughly entertained the crowd at Silver Start Mountain, 1609 Restaurant & Lounge. They opened the evening with folk originals during the dinner hour and switched to dance music for the crowd to enjoy. They had the crowd up dancing to the many cover tunes and joining in the fun.
